IoQ: Bake a CakeThumbelina returned to her feet and held out the egg to Waldor. "Can you hold her while I bake?"
The owl took the egg and promptly wrapped his wings around it and himself, cooing to the thing. After a moment the word 'bake' settled upon him. "Bake? Will my weedling work then?"
"Weedling?" Thumbelina didn't understand. "I was going to be testing cakes for Matches' wedding..?"
He clicked in happiness and rubbed one of his wings against her. "May I inquire of what types you will try?"
"Hm.... Well.." Thumbelina thought as she moved towards the kitchen. "Lavender lemon cake, butter cake, orange cake... I may try out different variations of the butter one with different fillings or icing.. Do you have any suggestions?"
Filled cakes? This woman had his heart for a reason. "Have...you ever made mint icing? Or mint creme?" Waldor padded after her, a smile spreading across his face as he did. "I believe anything you make will be wonderful, Belina."
"Hmm.. well I could crush some mint and try ba
IoQ: Genderbent Owl and Fairy Part 3- MatchesIt was into the next day. Thumbelina had coxed the unhappily female Waldor downstairs with the promise of mint tea. Which he swore he would not let out of his sight. So now there he was, back in his dress and pouring tea for his mate.
The owl was grumpy and had pulled everything out of her satchel to settle the egg into. The thing was clutched to her chest and anytime a strange sound was heard the owl would tense and hiss softly. She did however manage to settle on her perch with one of Thumby's dresses draped on her awkwardly as she cradled and cooed at the little egg she was still having issues accepting she'd bombed out.
There was a scamper outside then a yelp as something crashed over a bucket and tumbled. Matches was coming.
Thumbelina took the seat closest to Waldor and stroked the egg lovingly. "It's strange.. but I'm excited." He smiled and leaned over to nuzzle Waldor. "Though.. I had no idea that your visions were.. so painful that they could mask labor pains..."
The owl was
IoQ: Genderbent Owl and Fairy Part 2- Egg AppearsWaldor woke and shifted a little then paused when her limbs felt strange. Ah...that was right. She was temporarily female now. The owl sighed and touched Thumbelina gently to 'see' where the man was when an uncomfortable lump in the bed had her shifting around to get the thing out from under her legs. What was that? She supposed one of the pillows might have gotten smooshed under them and sighed as she wiggled the thing free.
Thumbelina yawned and glanced over to see what Waldor was fussing with. ".... Why is there an egg in bed?"
The owl froze, feathers all over her lifting up. Her voice was practically a squeak when she finally managed to speak. "E-egg?" No. Nonononono, she was really a he there was no way this was happening he did NOT lay an egg. Waldor took a breath and decided on the most reasonable explaination for the egg-Melanie was messing with them again. "Melanie...has a very vivid sense of humour..."
Thumbelina moved and picked the rather large egg up and sat it in his lap.
IoQ: Genderbent Owl and Fairy Part 1- A JokeThumbelina had made tea, but had also left it unattended as she went to get some cake from the kitchen to go with it, she was just expecting Waldor for some afternoon tea. Nothing really fancy, just some chatting and maybe cuddles with tea. Or at least that had been her intent. While the pot was unattended her mischievous daughter snuck down and dumped a silly looking potion she found at the shop inside. It smelt pretty gross. who puts bacon in a potion. Whatever. Gross bacon tea would be hilarious. Then she disappeared back into the shadows.
Waldor had a trail with him as he headed for Thumby's house. Argos was not content to stay behind and Elpis followed her pack-mama willingly. Only the sprite stayed behind, snoozing on a floating leaf in the pond outside the house as it's feet kicked now and then from the dream it was having. The owl sighed from the animals following them and knocked softly on his friends door when he reached it.
Thumbelina hurried herself from the kitchen and gri
IoQ: Love and RevengeWaldor had intended to spend the day gathering plant life and making concoctions but the soft patter of rain on his roof had kept him inside. Instead the owl was wandering through his house reading one of his old journals, his hands moving over the pages slowly. He had thought to go over them in case there was something in them he didn't want seen but as soon as he had picked up the things all of the rage of his youth had come back to him and he'd sighed before continuing reading. It was strange to think that he had grown while in captivity...but he was most certain that he had grown the most since he had arrived on the island.
Mel rolled out of a portal behind him and draped herself over one of his shoulders asking simply. "What cha reading Elder?" Her fairy nature made her extremely light and her little legs wiggled behind her.
He stiffened on reflex then sighed heavily when the voice registered. "Old journals. To what do I owe this visit, child?" He reached back to pet her hair brie
IoQ: Mornings with a large familyThe little child is sleeping peacefully on his bed, nothing can ruin that, he was reading a book until it was very late again.
Waldor moved into the home and padded through the house, he paused at Jamal's door and listened....then walked right past to get the other children up.
Rey had had a sort of baby nightmare and had waddled into Jamal's bed and asked to be read to. so he was now snuggled up with the other baby.
Mel had a room all to herself.. and it was a booby trapped mess. She had things thrown all over the place and random blankets hung to cast shadows she could teleport by. I'm sorry Waldor.
Jonathan had the room of a neat freak. Not that he was one, but he was so paranoid about disappointing the adults that he kept everything clean and in order. Though just the sound of footsteps had him starting to stir.
Jamal is being snuggled by Rey Rey, both babies are pretty much attached, I am sorry Waldor but probably one of them will cry if they are separated and awaken from their be
IoQ: Good MorningIt was her new usual morning. Thumbelina had started to grow accustomed to Waldor sharing her bed and with her actually sleeping at night, she was once again waking up just before the sun. She was going to wiggle out of bed, but her eyes lingered on his face as her glow hit the sharp features of his face. The previous evening hung on her thoughts as she softly caressed his cheek and moved to kiss him. It would be rude of her to rise without at least warning him.
Movement around him made the owl stir some. The room smelled familiar though and he woke calmly then floofed terribly when he realized Thumbelina had not only woken before him but was pressed against him in a way that made his heart race. He stamped down his normal foolish reaction and cooed a soft good morning and let the fairy do as she pleased-like he would tell her to stop that...ever.
What was the proper reply...? Oh right. Thumbelina moved her lips from his so that she could nuzzle her cheek to his as she cooed the reply
