IoQ: A Lovely Afternoon- Melanie, Jamal, Sid, Ana

Ana went straight home after dropping the tiny creature off at the hospital. She was certain that it would be fine under the light golem's care. She carefully unlocked the door, keeping a wary eye out for any signs of intruders-- particularly the stranger fish girl. She'd broken in more times than Ana could count, and after the last scare, she did not particularly want to lose her mask again.
Fortunately she found her house to be empty, save for the small menagerie of animals that she'd taken in on her time on the island. She snapped her fingers. Two dogs, one still larger than the other, came bounding forward, barking all the while. She smiled and scratched behind their ears, then made her way to her workbench.
Steel reflected the firelight onto her mask. Her hammer was holding up nicely. Even after smashing through the wargs this morning, there wasn't a single sign of damage. She turned it over, admiring her work. Looking at it gave her the itch to use it again. She stood back up, then turned around and headed back out the door, then headed to the lagoon. The idiot from the light temple had yelled at her the last time she was there, but what else was new? Besides, he was funny when he was mad. Ana tredged through the snow, laughing silently at their last encounter as she internally mapped out a battle plan.
Well this is very awkward, he is an adult now and he can finally be lazy again! Jamal floats to the Lagoon with his sister so they can find some sprites to beat, wow, they are assholes, no wonder Waldor is raising them. Jamal looks at Melanie and squints " Are you sure you can do this? You dont go out as much I do”
"I do to, I just don't get caught." Melanie huffed and kept walking. Geeze he makes so many assumptions about her.
Sidney was following, mostly to keep an eye on them, and also because he was curious. But, he also knew that Sprites were powerful, and going out specificity to hunt them was danger.

Finally she had reached the lagoon. The waters were still as snow drizzled over them, leaving small flakes floating on the surface before slowly melting into it. The giant lily pads that populated the lagoon now carried huge mounds of snow, and they leaned into the water like haunch-backed old men. She went back to the area that the light temple idiot had expressly forbade her from entering the last time she was there. She was certain that the statue had not moved since then.
Jamal looks back and sees the dog " Yo, Sid, why are you following us" Said the dude floating in the air, he is back being his lazy self, this felt so good after years always having to touch the ground. The guy is pretty much literally glowing like a star so it would reflect on the lagoon.
"To keep an eye on you." Sid trotted along. "You may both have adult bodies, but sprites are dangerous."
Melanie glanced back to Sidney with a frown. Was he saying they couldn't handle it? Looking forward once more, the dark fairy was surprised to see Ana. "YO STRONG WOMAN!" She hollered as she ran up to her.
He stares at the dog "Dont say in plural, I had this body once" He face palms as his sister calls the knight lady " Melanie dont run to her, she always smashes people"
"Yes, but it's been a few years..." sidney trotted along.
"Fine whatever." Melanie swung her staff down on the statue. "Let's do this."
He made a confused face " Are you calling me old?" He follows Melanie " Okay sure" This is ironic, he is Light and she is Dark.....kinda reminds two certain people...

The first sprite divebombed Melanie, knocking the wind out of her before she could cast a barrier.
Sidney whipped up a barrier for himself first, knowing if he went down he couldn't exactly protect the kids- Ohhhh drat.
Damn it!.....He is right. Jamal looks at those sprites and sets one of the sprites on fire. " Oh well, here we go"
Melanie grumbled as another sprite hit her as she tried to cast a barrier on herself, causing a weak spell.
Sidney threw a light barrier around Melanie. The sprites didn't seem to like her very much.
Melanie just wasn't a great mage. Honestly she was better at killing, but even so she attempted to barrier her brother.

He nods in thanks to Sid and his sister and looked back at the sprites. He throws a light spear at a sprite.
Sid felt now would be a good time to attack, and followed Jamal's light spear with a light dagger.
Melanie took a bite out of a sprite.. it wasn't as satisfying as she had hoped.
Jamal looks at his sister " Pffffahahaha did it taste bad? Maybe like dirt!" Laughs like an asshole. This is why he shouldnt be an adult.
"PROBABLY STILL TASTES BETTER THAN YOU!" Melanie laughed.
"TOO BAD, I TASTE LIKE RAINBOWS AND BACON PANCAKES" Oh shit, he shouldnt have said that, he sets a sprite on fire by accident.
"Oh yeah?" Melanie continued laughing and cast a stat buff on herself.
"Ignore it and lets not talk about this again, I only taste like that when I am a Star" He throws a lightning spear to a sprite's butt.

The star dude has the brilliant idea to cook a sprite for his sister " I think this sprite will be tastier- Oh thanks dear sister" They are assholes, what a family.
Such a good brother. Melanie grins then frowns as the sprite dissolves into elemental essence. "Maybe we should Hunt for the baby later?"
"Yes!......Do you think Da- Waldor will teach me the strix language, everyone in the house knows but me, he wouldnt teach me :I " The dude throws a death ray from his mouth.
"I can teach you bad words." Mel trapped a sprite in a dark shadow. "Did you ask him to teach you?"
" He didnt want to teach me" He kicked a sprite that tried to sneak behind her.
"You asked?" Mel bites the sprite that he kicked.
" Once....." GOD DAMN IT SPRITES, DONT ATTACK A LADY'S BUTT! He fries a sprite like a chicken "I think we can feed this one to the little one"
"But they turn into essence." Melanie watched the corpse cautiously before spinning to smack an approaching one with her staff. "Want me to ask with you?"
"Maybe....wait but we are adults, he might not belive in us"He realises " Oh yeah the smell thing" DEATH RAY OF DOOM ACTIVATES.
"Eh. Mom would believe... anyway, she had all those baby-fied people yesterday." She drop kicks a sprite.
"She is a good person, hey did you know that it isnt the first time she has murder intent?" Woop this is like a rave, these rays are so gay, shame on you Jamal vomiting rainbows.
"Hahahaha, Good." Like a dance party woop woop. Melanie swings her staff at another sprite. "Did she win before?"
"Yeah, first time a stupid bird guy tried to eat me and I was very hurt then she grabbed boiling oil and threw it to the asshole's face ovo" Oh shit, he sweared on his little sister.
Her brother has her laughing so hard. The idea of her mom actually attacking someone was hard to believe. Oh another sprite down.
"I am still not sorry for getting hurt at that time" Oh yeah, he had a weird feel since this is a new body, his scars dont exist" I would show scars but this is not the original old body :v" Firebending this shit.
"Did you possess a baby?" Melanie stared at her brother, then ducked to avoid a sprite.
"Nope, I died and was born into another body, I guess my parents were kinda cool to let me get a normal life instead having to go back home" WoooooOPARTEH
Ana returned to the scene to find the sprites surrounding the strangers from before. She smirked. Well, that was one way to find them. She took up her hammer and joined the fight.
"Oh hey! Its Ana! Hi! " He waved but she might not recognise, he doesnt look anything like a baby.
"Do you not like them as much as mom?" Melanie hops through a portal to come up behind a sprite and smack it with her staff.

"You can be a god? I thought that gods were supposed to be cool." Melanie blinked then jumped to the stide to dodge a sprite.
" If I really could die here, I would become one, it was kinda a deal, too back he got tricked by the guardians muahahhahahahaha :3 " Oh hey, two sprites dont attack them and float to them as they gave them....is that CAKE? HOLY SHIT THEY ARE AWESOME "HEY MEL! THESE SPRITES ARE COOL, DONT KILLS THEM, THEY GOT US FOOD!" Snatches a sprite and ties it with his scarf to him.....looks like a baby in a sling....
Ana stared incredulously. She knew that the sprites could be friendly, but this is the first time she'd seen one giving out sweets. This day kept getting stranger and stranger.

She nodded cautiously to Jamal, not recognizing him as an adult.
"Huh... okay." Melanie shrugged and ate the cake as she wacked another sprite."Are you here to help us Ana?"
"Its a nice day, isnt it? Instead finding me in the mines" Sorry he is so glowly that he might blind Ana since her armor reflects shit.
She supposed that she might as well help if they were chasing the same objective. She nodded again, this time to the spider woman. Charging into the center of the fray, she began to swing her hammer wildly, taking out as many sprites as possible.

"You're kinda almost cool." Melanie swings around her brother and takes out more sprites.
"You are jealous that you dont have moves like me unless you want me to teach you, they are kinda handy to steal stuff" JAMAL DONT TEACH YOUR SISTER TO BE LIKE YOU.
"Yeah right! I'm already way cooler than you." Melanie laughed as she bounced though portals to sneak up on sprites.
"Pfft you wish. " He lays down in the middle of the air as the fire around him does the job for him. "I might even take a nap."
"Why would you wanna do that?" Melanie jumped over her brother's fire and took off a sprite's head using the sharp gems of her staff.
The fire made Ana nervous. Though it was unlikely to do so due to the snow and general wetness of the area, she wouldn't be able to run away in her armor fast enough if it spread. She carefully stepped to the other side of the fray and smashed another sprite into a bloody pulp.
"Its useful, gotta be flexible to get what you want, if we worked together, he would even get the locked cake in the cabinet" This guy is a genius, at least his IQ is superior than hers. His fire cant even spread with all the snow, specially with the probability of a snowstorm :3c
"I dunno, I think the only cake that's locked up belongs to Elder...." Respect hunters yo. Melanie beats down another one.
Ana wasn't sure who or what they were talking about, but she supposed she was glad they were having fun with their cake. She swung her hammer like a baseball bat at a sprite and sent it flying far into the distance.
Has been giving hints to Ana....looks like she is dumb. Jamal laughs at Melanie " He always steals the best and it is supposed to be shared with everyone, think this is justice because today we deserve it"
The snow was red with the blood of fallen sprites. They came in waves, driving needle-like attacks that barely pierced her armor as she smashed them left and right. Ana watched the man spread more fire. She'd seen someone like that before... Suddenly it dawned on her. Both of them beared a striking resemblance to Thumbelina's children. The fire, the mines... She shook her head. But how could this be? She remembered the potion that had been thrown at her. She'd chanced on it being able to turn her back, so she supposed perhaps it could restore any child to adulthood, even if they hadn't been an adult previously. She stared at the pair with newfound wonder. As she did, more sprites appeared from behind and tried to grab her mask. She gasped, then spun around and smashed them into the ground with her hammer.
Jamal dodges the spinning strike Ana did "Woah! Watch out, I dont want my face to be smashed D': " He zaps the sprites that were coming from above of Ana. " I know you are very touchy with your face but mine is innocent." Everyone here is just being awesome. No wonder adults dont trust these kids.
Ana stopped and nodded in apology to Jamal for almost hitting him, then returned to business. It was odd, seeing them as adults. She was used to seeing them being barely three feet tall. She supposed it was even odder fighting beside them. She began to wonder if she should take them home. But then what? She wasn't exactly on good terms with their parents, and she doubted she could stop them if they wanted to stay-- especially since he had fire magic. No, the most she could do was make sure they stayed safe. Ana scoped out where Melanie was fighting, then made a point of attacking sprites that headed toward the "kids."
Well this kid is older than your grandma and ever her grandma and other grandmas together, you can see this young oldman being a cool guy and getting the sprites being lit like candles.~ Jamal makes a run for it and reaches to the statue, he might have been punched once or twice but when he finally touched it, he melted it with his hand and the sprite stopped coming. Victory for our brave party " Finally! And heh, this wasnt so bad as I feared, maybe that stupid potion was good all along" Jamal gathered his things and floated over to his sister and to Ana to get back to the village. This might have been the best day ever.
